This piece sprang from an idea for a quiet, welcoming outdoor spot - inspired by a similar place I loved to study, read, write, and draw in during college. I found a little clearing near a small waterfall on campus, and anytime I could escape there, that was my place. I painted this with all those peaceful, perfectly solitary moments in mind.
