This series of pieces is one of my favorites I've done. They feel like all the hope and magic of springtime, full of flowers and quiet breezes, soft light and everyday moments. Each piece shares a color palette and some similar elements - all of them feature larkspur, daisies, and mushrooms, for example. Here, you'll find a mossy cottage, a gothic window, an antique teapot, an enchanted lantern, and an inviting stack of books.
I made these pieces for people who long for peace, beauty, and wonder. These are for the introverts, nature lovers, bookworms, and homebodies. Sure, we like adventure - if by adventure you mean long walks, beautiful scenery, and a hot cup of tea and a cozy chair at the end! Each piece is meant to bring a little bit of enchantment into your everyday life. Whether you're looking to add a touch of whimsical beauty to your living space with an art print, personalize your favorite belongings with a sticker, or find a unique gift for a fellow lover of coziness, I hope you'll find something that sparks joy.

the process

Each illustration was painted by me using gouache paint. I pulled inspiration from all kinds of places, but I knew I wanted to keep the floral elements and color palette consistent throughout the pieces. I used daisies because they're my mom's favorite, larkspur for my business name, and mushrooms because I just really enjoy them. In some pieces, I added lavender and clematis, other favorites of mine.
I selected the focus for each piece by thinking about various items that make feel at home in some way. Some are obvious, like the teapot - who doesn't feel better with a good cup of tea? However, some are a little more personal. The window, for example, comes from my longtime love of medieval things - I've been pretty obsessed ever since I read King Arthur and Robin Hood when I was in elementary school. Incorporating elements like castles, gothic windows, and so on make me feel just as magical now as those stories did then.
After I finished painting each piece, I scanned them on my Epson printer, cleaned up the scans in Procreate, and printed them on whatever paper fit my purpose. I've got a printable vinyl for stickers, cardstock for coloring pages, and a lovely, thick, matte Red River Paper for art prints. On that note, if you're an artist, go check out Red River's products here - I love their items, and if you shop with my link, I make a small commission!
